    **Please note:** This position has the possibility of working remotely within 150 miles of Phoenix, Arizona for a percentage of the scheduled work time, as determined by the supervisor.     Under general supervision, responsible for commodity price risk management daily trade desk functions, including trade execution of authorized Freeport-McMoRan base metals (primarily copper), precious metals and energy tactical and strategic price risk management programs. Responsible for derivative’s position maintenance and commodity price risk management administration. The position will not engage in speculative trading.

    + Trade order execution of customer price fixations and offsetting tactical hedge with broker counterparts; coordinate with customers and financial counterparts to structure the monthly copper hedge book; implement derivative product transactions for copper, gold, silver, diesel fuel and natural gas strategic price risk management programs for Freeport-McMoRan and subsidiary companies; confirm transaction details with customers and broker counterparts

    + Enter daily trade details and market data into derivatives position databases insuring integrity of these systems and compliance with authorization/corporate risk management policy; coordinate monthly close out of positions and settlements; interact with Compliance Department

    + Assemble and maintain metals and energy price data; prepare mark-to-market evaluations, presentations and report to management and other corporate teams/departments

    + Prepare and distribute daily market report to internal and external customers; interact with Sales department to ensure customer price fixations/hedge objectives are achieved


    **Minimum Qualifications**

    + Bachelor's degree **and** three (3) years of experience in finance, accounting, sales, marketing, commodity trading, hedging, or closely related fields

    + Present a positive, professional image

    + Must be self-motivated and client service oriented

    + Must be able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure

    + Excellent problem solving, attention to detail, and analytical skills

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    + Ability to work independently with some supervision

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook), database programs and the Internet

The successful candidate will acquire and schedule generation and transmission resources in order to meet forecasted next-hour retail and wholesale demand. To represent the company in negotiations with representatives of other power marketing entities regarding bulk power transactions, including amount, price and other contract terms.

    **_Position-Related Responsibilities_**

    + Forecasts load and develops plan to fulfill load requirements using available TEP and market generating resources.

    + Determines the scheduling of electrical generation required to meet demand load requirements.

    + Responsible for buying and selling energy on a real-time basis to maximize profitability.

    + Optimizes scheduling of TEP generating resources and utilizes sales, purchases and banking of power and energy with other entities in a way that maximizes economy and reliability.

    + Negotiates with representatives of other power marketing entities for the sale or purchase of hourly power, including amount, price and other contract terms.

    + Schedules power transactions with TEP generation control supervisors.
