Primary Responsibilities:

+ Testing a variety of electronic units using prescribed test procedures:

+ Setting up and operating various test stands

Summary This position is located in Grand Canyon National Park, in the Facility Management Division. Career/Career-Conditional Full-time appointment. Responsibilities Major Duties: Determine the proper and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems equipment and controls. Plan and lay out the routing, placement, type and size of wire. Perform all preventative maintenance, operational checks, repair, layout, installation, troubleshooting, tracing, modification on all new and existing electrical systems park wide, electrical generators and fire suppression systems park wide. Apply the National Electric Code (NEC) to projects in order to select the correct materials and methods for an installation or repair. Install, maintains and repairs electric motors, pumps, control wiring, relays and starters, particularly those units required for sewer treatment plant operation, water systems, and HVAC. Area Information: This position is stationed at Grand Canyon National Park at the South Rim located in Northern Arizona. The South Rim is located approximately 60 miles north of Williams and 82 miles Northwest of Flagstaff at an elevation of 7,000 feet. Temperatures range from approximately 90 degrees in the summer to 0 degrees in the winter. Annual precipitation averages around 13 inches. Grand Canyon Village has schools K-12, a daycare center, post office, general store, churches, a recreation center with gym, a public library, a clinic with resident physicians, and several restaurants. The park community consists of some 2,500 people, including employees of the NPS and concessionaires and their family members. There are often employment opportunities for family members in the park and surrounding areas. The park community is small enough that many employees choose to walk or bike from their homes to work. **What You Will Do**

+ Removal, repair and installation of electrical components and basic to intermediate troubleshooting.

+ Assist in the safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs.

THE POSITION

Cayon State Electric is looking for an entry-level bilingual Recruiter to join our Recruitment team. This person will play a crucial role in identifying, attracting, and hiring commercial and industrial electricians. The primary responsibility will be to source, screen, and interview candidates for electrician positions, ensuring that we are keeping up with our manpower needs to meet the demands of our projects and clients. This role will also work very closely with our safety department to hire apprentices.

The primary purpose of this position is to troubleshoot, modify, repair, and perform final functional and operational tests of complex electrical systems, components, and accessories in fixed or rotary winged aircraft. Responsibilities - Troubleshoots, modifies, repairs, and tests complex electrical systems, components, and accessories with intricate wiring systems under actual or ground power such as automatic flight control, armament, landing gear, antiskid, ignition, stall warning, power distribution, engine drive alternator, and fuel indicating systems. - Sets up and operates computerized multiple circuit analyzing equipment to run established and new diagnostic programs in various test modes to test aircraft electrical circuitry and interconnecting cabling of the entire aircraft or individual systems such as radar, flight control, navigational computers, and radio flight control. - Uses a variety of tools and equipment such as hand and electrical test units, e.g., meters, bridges, meggers, harness testers, locally manufactured "breakout boxes", signal generators, oscilloscopes, timing devices, calibrators, multiple function analyzers, and computerized multiple circuit analyzing equipment. - Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. - Maintains records and documents actions. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2800 - Electrical Installation And Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is the Ability To Do the Work of an Aircraft Electrician without More than Normal Supervision. JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures. Knowledge of electrical theory, principles, standard trade methods and practices, and circuitry; aircraft electrical systems and their interrelationships; electronics principles (e.g., knowledge of construction practices of electronic equipment to recognize types and sizes of resistors, capacitors, wiring, and transistors); knowledge to follow signal paths through printed circuit and wired circuitry to recognize actual circuit configurations shown in schematics and diagrams; the electromagnetic basis of alternating current and inductive and capacitance reactance, series and parallel tuned circuits, impedance matching, and operation of transistors to troubleshoot, modify, repair, overhaul, and maintain complex electrical systems such as antiskid, automatic flight control, and fuel indicating systems; and knowledge of the interface of electrical systems with hydraulic, electronic armament, instrument, and mechanical systems and assemblies. Skill to test, troubleshoot, analyze, modify, and repair complex electrical systems and components; to trace hard to locate and intermittent electrical defects and problems using a variety of meters and test devices; to repair or replace electrical components throughout the aircraft; to install, relocate, and reposition conventional electrical and electronic components and wiring to facilitate installation of nonconventional equipment; to assemble a variety of locally developed test devices (e.g., "breakout boxes and panels") utilizing switches, diodes, resistors, relays, terminal boards, wiring harnesses, and other similar components; to calibrate and adjust components such as amplifiers, proximity boxes, generators, and voltage regulators; and to perform initial and final functional and operational checks on the entire aircraft electrical system. Skill to setup and operate computerized multiple circuit analyzing equipment in manual, semiautomatic, or automatic mode to run existing and new diagnostic programs to test and analyze aircraft electrical circuitry and interconnecting cabling of systems such as navigational computers, radar, and related equipment to repair discrepancies. Ability to research aircraft modification history, technical orders, engineering change proposals, and manuals concerning wire codes, wiring configuration, and testing procedure; and to assist engineering personnel in developing modifications and changes on electrical, electronic, instrument, and other integrated electrical systems, and programming personnel in developing, debugging, or modifying diagnostic programs by recommending changes where necessary and identifying problems. Ability to use computer terminals to maintain records and document actions. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Frequently climbs up and down ladders, check stands, work platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structures while making repairs or installations. The work requires long periods of standing and considerable kneeling, bending, stooping, stretching, and working in hard-to-reach places requiring awkward and strained positions. Frequently lifts parts and equipment that weigh up to 20 pounds unassisted, and occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance of lifting devices or other workers. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in hangars and on flight lines. Subject to drafts, noise, and varying temperatures in hangars and weather, temperature, and noise extremes on flight lines. Exposed to dust, dirt, grease, oil, fumes, solvents, and other aircraft fluids while working on aircraft in various stages of repair or modification. Exposed to the possibility of abrasions, cuts, burns, electrical shock, skin, and eye irritation, and falls from elevated work areas, e.g., check stands and aircraft structures. May be subject to exposure to potential injury from turning rotors or jet blast during engine runups. As an Electrician, you will collaborate and help to grow the culture of innovation, accountability, and teamwork. You will support our maintenance and central plant teams with electrical work order requests and projects. Work will be in clean and dirty environments (i.e. Operating rooms, mechanical rooms, public corridors, patient rooms), both indoor and outdoor (i.e. rooftop, parking garages, etc.). You will perform preventative maintenance (PM) on all electrical gear and/or assist leadership in project management with Electrical PM scheduling. You will also cover maintenance needs in the absence of Maintenance Technicians.

**Schedule will be Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm. NOTE: Special projects and preventative maintenance will mandate for work on night shifts and weekends.**

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for electrical maintenance, construction, and repair including but not limited to switchboards, lighting devices, and modification of existing electrical instillations to the medical center electrical distribution system. Reviews contracted electrical work for code compliance and compatibility to existing electrical components. Conducts regular tests and maintains all required documentation for the operation of the hospital emergency generators. Works with and assists other trades in completing required tasks.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Installs, designs, and maintains new electrical wiring, panel boards, switchgear, fuses, lighting fixtures and their associated control circuits, heating devices, motors and motor control centers. Ensures strict adherence to all safety rules and regulations. Performs electrical duties working on various voltages up to 480v. Keeps the designated Facilities Services manager informed as to the needs and / or changes required to keep the facilities electrical systems operating in a safe and well maintained condition.

2. Maintains, repairs, and modifies electrical circuits utilizing various meters and test equipment. Coordinates the preventative maintenance of all electrical distribution systems, including the emergency generators in order to ensure the integrity and reliability of the emergency electrical distribution system. Monitors and modifies the electrical PM program to assure maximum effectiveness; provides all required and appropriate documentation.

3. Works with all other divisions and departments to meet the facility electrical maintenance, installation and construction needs; negotiates priorities, plans work schedules and job assignments. Orders needed material, parts and supplies. Recommends use of outside electrical specialty contractors as appropriate. Oversees and monitors outside electrical specialty contractors to assure compliance with established hospital standards.

4. Troubleshoots and monitors electrical maintenance repair work, alterations and renovation upgrades to the facilities electrical systems. As assigned, monitors electrical construction, installation and commissioning activities. Monitors systems and installation processes to ensure the integrity of assigned Life Safety systems.

5. Maintains stock levels of materials and parts at an appropriate level within budgetary constraints. Maintains electrical repair and replacement schedules and records to keep within the projected budget. Reviews materials to ensure the quality of all components for electrical installations during construction and remodel projects. Provides input to the designated Facilities Services manager.

6. Maintains facility compliance with all applicable Authorities Having Jurisdiction including local, state, federal and all other regulatory codes pertaining to any and all components of the facilities electrical distribution systems. Attends annual code compliance and update training.

7. Incumbents in this position work independently under general supervision and fulfill responsibilities using specialized skills and knowledge. This position interacts with a wide variety of individuals including staff, co-workers, patients, physicians, visitors, regulatory agencies, surveyors, inspectors, contractors, and vendors. This position is facility based and has no budgetary responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Must have a current license as required by the state or authorities having jurisdiction. Requires working knowledge and certification as required of applicable regulatory codes and State and local building codes.

Some facilities or departments, depending on business need, may require proof of a valid driver’s license and eligibility for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.

This position requires knowledge and skills normally demonstrated with at least 3 years of diversified work experience as an electrician. Must have working knowledge of electrical systems and components common to the healthcare environment. Must be able to exercise independent decision making and judgment in the performance of all duties. Requires the ability to work safely and effectively with all voltages up to 480v. Must be proficient in reading and understanding related and required maintenance and construction documents. Good verbal and written communication skills are required.

Must be able to work effectively with commonly used office software programs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous construction experience is preferred. 3-5 years of previous healthcare facility work experience is preferred.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
