Duties and Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating CNC Vertical Mills such as Haas, Doosan, Mazak, Yam or SMG
Program, Setup and Machine prototype and short run parts from engineering blueprints using HAAS VMC Mills.
Proficient reading blue prints and understanding specifications and GD&T.
Capable of reading of reading manual measuring instruments.
Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing QA procedures and processes.
Ability to program mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation.
Analyze and diagnose machining, programming and tooling problems.
Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
Experience with CAD programs such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks a plus.
Knowledge of programming Mills using Mastercam or SURFCAM is a definite plus.
Manual mills and lathe experience a plus.

What You Will Do
Set-up, operate and control process on all product produced on CNC Milling machines, working with metals including aluminum, copper, and steel.
Determine machining requirements by reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Execute production plan according to manufacturing schedule and work instructions.

Position Summary
This position supports operational excellence in the machining processes to drive productivity, quality and continuous improvement. This role will be expected to collaborate with the Sargent team to exceed organizational goals.
Responsibilities
+ Knowledgeable of safety standards for equipment and demonstrate safe behaviors at all times.
+ Maintains a clean and safe work area at all times.
+ Complete required equipment maintenance checks.
+ Knowledgeable of and adheres to company quality standards.
+ Performs operations per specifications on drawing/print and documented procedures.
+ Must work well with others in a team environment.
+ Monitor operations and quickly react to non-conformances as they occur.
+ Produce and inspect parts at rate.
+ Deburr parts using machines such as milling, drilling, grinding and other machines as needed.
+ Machine and/or grind parts on CNC machines and grinders. Ability to perform and record first piece inspection and fill out in-process inspection sheets.
+ Learn to - Setup and grind precision OD using centerless grinders, and thru-feed grinders.
+ Learn to - Set-up and operate Federal and Standard air gages, Sunnen gages and micrometers.
+ Learn to - Set-up and grind precision O.D. of ball components using specified tooling.
+ Learn to Setup and run CNC lathe.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Minimum of 2 years' machine shop with grinding experience.
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Must be able to read and write English.
+ Basic understanding of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics.
+ Experience reading technical drawings and work instructions.
+ Some experience with measuring & inspecting parts.
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to bend, squat, sit, stand, walk, and handle objects. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull and reach above shoulder level. The employee must be able to carry/lift up to 40 pounds and be able to rotate item being handled.
+ Work on feet for entire shift.
+ Manual dexterity and the ability to carry out complex, repetitive tasks quickly and methodically.
+ Some experience with changing off sets and running a CNC Grinder.
+ Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position.
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen.

+ Process parts through CNC, potting, swage/press, roll release, and torque testing as needed.
+ Perform and record first piece inspection and fill out in-process inspection sheets.
+ Provide comprehensive feedback to NPI team on parts being processed along with ideas for improvements.
+ Train others as directed.
+ Set up proven and unproven jobs on CNC equipment, make approved adjustments and program edits.
+ Work with CNC programmer to finalize machine programs.
+ Work with ME to finalize swage processes.
Minimum Qualifications
+ High School diploma or GED required.
+ Minimum of 5 years machining experience.
+ Experience running and setting up CNC Lathe and CNC Mill.
+ Must be able to read and write English.
+ Application of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics.
+ Experience in reading, interpreting technical drawings, routers, work instructions and specifications. Able to create plan on how to machine based on information.
+ Advanced measurement skills for inspection, including GD&T, use of CMM, and optical comparator.
+ Knowledge of cutting tool capabilities (speeds/feeds, types, insert grades, etc. based on material and size).
+ Must be proficient in G & M codes, creating and editing CNC programs on lathes and mills, and setting up complex parts.
+ Strong communication, critical thinking, and multi-tasking abilities.
+ Train Level I and II machinists as directed.
+ Monitor operations and quickly react and troubleshoot non-conforming operations as they occur.
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to bend, squat, sit, stand, walk, and handle objects. + College Course work preferred.
+ Master Cam experience preferred.
+ Preferred ability to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
