WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As the CNC Lathe Machinist, responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:
- Requires the ability to follow written instructions and read blueprint specifications or equivalent.
- Set up, operate, and adjusts semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequence of operations.
- Requires knowledge of operations including drilling, boring and milling, turning, etc., employing recognized tooling and procedures and where tolerances are close, but not difficult to maintain.
- Operators may run more than one unit simultaneously.
- Must be able to check parts for conformance to specifications.
- Maintain, implement, and improve 5-S Principles.
- Perform regular department housekeeping duties as necessary.
- Sustain production standards and quality.
- Recognizes, deploys, and properly uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling
- Performs daily and regular cleaning and light machine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required.

ABOUT YOU:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5+ year related training or work experience.
- Knowledge of machining techniques and methods
- Familiarity with setting up and running 3 and 4 axis CNC lathes
- Ability to read & follow verbal & written work instructions in the English language.
- Requires the ability to follow written instructions and read blueprint specifications

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As the CMM Operator, responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:
- Utilizes precision measuring instruments and special inspection equipment to inspect first-piece, in-process and final manufactured parts according to drawing specifications.
- Operates Coordinating Measuring Machine (CMM) to perform inspection procedures.
- Determines acceptance or rejection of products based on requirements.
- Notifies supervision of products failing to meet customer expectations.
- Works on duties and tasks, selecting from written instructions and establish procedures.
- Completes all required documents and maintain records that pertain to quality control.
- Works at different workstations to meet production requirements.
- Maintains adequate supplies and a neat and orderly work area.
- Maintains tools and equipment in proper working order and perform preventative maintenance, as qualified.
- Maintains the security and confidentiality of customers’ products and documentation.
- Participates in providing timely feedback to other operations, as appropriate.
- Inspect most difficult assemblies and may be consulted for recommendations for process improvements by engineering or management.
- Recognized as area expert in being able to perform inspection at all levels of complexity.
- Troubleshoot all levels of problems and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Ability to read and interpret aerospace drawings, specifications, and customer documents.
- Performs detailed first article inspections following the installation of full assembly.

ABOUT YOU:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of work experience in manufacturing and production.
- Previous work experience preforming first piece inspection, GD&T, operating a CMM and mechanical inspection/surface plate layout.
- Able to interpret Aerospace blueprints.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Requires the ability to follow written instructions and read blueprint specifications in English.
- Able to operate and adjust semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequence of operations where programs are provided, and setups are often made and maintained by others.
- Must be able to check parts for conformance to specifications.

Machinist
• Detailed understanding of CNC machine operation including knowledge of all control keys and functions on either Lathe or Mill
• Ability to calculate appropriate speed and feed combinations for various tools and materials as needed
• Complete knowledge of common Lathe or Mill G&M Code
• Ability to accurately make tool and work offsets
• Proficient in use of common shop measuring tool to validate first article and production runs to identify/prevent non-conformance
• Ability to identify and replace broken/worn tooling
• Able to read and write basic G&M code programs for either Lathe or Mill
• Able to trouble shoot basic G&M Code programs
• Understanding of how CAM system operates
• Ability to work with Programming Engineer to improve manufacturing efficiency
• Successfully set up production runs and receive first article acceptance on either Lathe or Mill

Job Description

Your Role and Responisbiliites:

Responsible for set-up and operating machine tools to create / modify ceramic parts for direct sale to a customer.

Set up CNC & industrial machinery and oversee its functioning. Must be able to interpret and use blueprints for specific piece design, as well as calibrate equipment to follow product specifications. Follow strict company and industry safety regulations, as well as a tightly controlled sequence of functions and equipment programmingfunctions.

Must be able to communicate effectively with other machinists and supervisors, as well as attend regular training sessions for updates on equipment use. Act as a Cell Lead coordinating day to day activity and provide training to team members on relevant industry processes and equipment operations safety

Must be self-sufficient and work well with minimal supervision, and must be able to detect and correct program errors in a timely fashion.

Properly and safely load and unload raw materials in CNC machinery, as well as change out tools as required. Must have experience calibrating calipers and micrometers. Ability to use other small tools.

Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.

Must be able to report progress to the production supervisor in their department.

**Primary Purpose of Position:**

Willing to assist the Machine Shop Foreman in a variety of machining and welding tasks
Minimum of 1+ years’ experience reading blueprints

Support the Machine Shop Department with equipment maintenance
Assist Machinists with deburring and tapping parts

Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 practices
Experience with CAD programs such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks a plus.
Knowledge of programming Mills using SURFCAM is a definite plus.

You will be responsible for fabricating Fisher OEM control valve parts using a variety of machining techniques and equipment. You will also repair parts from the field, returning them to OEM specifications. You must be familiar with manual and CNC lathe and mill operations. + Be responsible for personal safety and for the safety of others. Must maintain excellent housekeeping standards.

+ Set-up, indicate, and machine raw material (bar stock, forgings, and castings) to manufacture Fisher parts to OEM print dimensions.

+ Cross-train on all machines to prevent lapse in production flow including but not limited to engine lathes, manual drills, horizontal bandsaws, CNC lathes, VTLs, HBMs, and CNC mills.
