Come and join us! As a **Senior Software Engineer** , you will build cloud services on top of modern Infrastructure as Service (IaaS) building blocks within the OCI organization. The ideal candidate will be passionate, self-motivated, able to multitask effectively, and have strong communication skills. The individual will be expected to contribute to a wide range of high impact projects.
Your day will typically look like: design and develop microservices as part of our cloud service; Design and build distributed, scalable, fault-tolerant software systems; Participate in the entire software lifecycle – development, testing, CI and production operations; Balance between product feature development and production operational concerns like writing run books, ops automation, structured logging, instrumentation for metrics and events; Leverage a plethora of internal tooling at OCI to develop, build, deploy and troubleshoot software; and participate in on-call for the service with the team.
+ BS degree in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience.
+ 3-7 years of experience in server technology development.
+ Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
+ Strong proficiency in **Java.**
+ Experience with **Cloud Computing, System Design** , and **Object-Oriented Design.**
+ Experience in design and implementation of Restful microservices using **Java/nodeJS frameworks.**
+ Experience in Big Data stack including **Kafka, Spark** and **Hadoop** ecosystem.
+ Strong understanding of **relational databases** and **NoSQL databases,** as well as of container technologies like **Docker** and container orchestration systems like **Kubernetes.**
+ Knowledge of scripting languages such as **Python, Bash, Lua** would be a plus.
+ Experience with build automation, continuous integration,/continuous deployment tools.
+ Experience with at least one family of monitoring/logging/observability tools (ex: elasticsearch, prometheus, fluentd).
+ Hands-on experience with a public cloud platform like **AWS, Azure, OCI.**
+ Experience developing **distributed, fault-tolerant applications.**
+ Experience with **Agile** Methodologies, specifically **Scrum.**
+ Experience using ticket tracking systems such as **JIRA.**
+ Ability to quickly pick up new languages and technologies.
+ Hard-working and versatile, able to work **independently** on a project even while the design is evolving.
+ Strong desire to stay passionate about **new technologies** and services.
+ Passionate about **learning.**
+ Strong **communication** skills, including cross-team collaboration.
+ Experience working with **geographically distributed** teams.
