Human Resources Manager

The City of Chandler Human Resources Division is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as an HR Manager. This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits. This posting will be open continuously until filled. First review of applications will be Thursday, August 25, 2022. Once settled in with the team, there may be an opportunity to work a flexible schedule (9/80) and occasionally work remotely.

Who we are
The City of Chandler Human Resources team, consisting of 23 positions, supports over 2200 full-time, temporary and part-time employees in all areas of Human Resources, including recruitment and selection, employee relations, labor relations, classification and compensation, leave management, benefits, wellness, occupational health and safety and organizational development.

We are a progressive and innovative team that partners with employees and citizens to deliver quality Human Resources services in support of the City of Chandler's Mission and Values.

Who we are looking for
A Human Resources leader that has a passion for customer service, teamwork, collaboration, and the ability to lead and mentor a high functioning team. We are looking for an experienced human resource professional who has the ability to lead in all functions of Human Resources. This position will be assigned to oversee one or more functional areas in the division based on the successful candidate’s experience. The ideal candidate will have a generalist background with governmental experience in employee relations, recruitment and selection, development and oversight of HR policies and processes, organizational development/training, leave management and HRIS. We are looking for someone to who has strong leadership and customer service skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities. This position is part of the overall Human Resources leadership team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Personnel Administration or a related field; and

• At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as a human resources generalist including recruitment, selection, classification, compensation, employee relations, leave management, occupational health and safety, and human resource information systems; and

• A minimum of two years of supervisory or lead experience; or

• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience in a municipal environment preferred.

The position available is regular full-time position and is subject to a six (6) month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for four (4) months should another position become available.
