A position has opened up in Honeywell PMT for an ambitious Manufacturing Systems Engineer, MES.

Position Overview

The Manufacturing Systems Engineer, MES will be responsible for the development and support of a wide variety of manufacturing systems applications. You will apply your experience and knowledge to the design, development, implementation, testing and support of software and hardware solutions to enable and enhance Manufacturing Operations. The Manufacturing Systems team is a critical element of Lean Manufacturing initiatives, and as a Manufacturing Systems Engineer, MES , you will be a key part of taking the Machine Automation Systems manufacturing operations to the next level of excellence.

Raleigh, NC - (Willing to relocate for the right candidate)

Ideal Candidate:

+ 5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing with some knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, processes, and test techniques.

+ Working Knowledge of MES software systems.

+ Application development using Visual Basic, C# and .NET frameworks.

+ Experience with SQL database management (MS SQL Management Studio).

+ Experience with Visual Basic 6.0 (for maintaining legacy applications).

+ Experience with languages such as Python and C++ would be helpful, but not required.

+ Ability to test applications and processes to verify correctness before deployment to factory environment.

+ Interact with Product Development teams to gather requirements for test applications.

+ Ability to work with third parties to integrate their technology into existing Honeywell products.

+ Experience with wired and wireless networking.

+ Experience with product labeling.

+ Experience with customer report generation.

+ Experience with testing cellular modems would be helpful, but not required.

+ Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Strong team player with a high level of initiative - collaborates well with others to solve problems.

Your Focus:

+ Monitor and verify all MFG systems are operational to ensure production is not adversely affected.

+ Execute the design, development, and implementation of a variety of manufacturing systems solutions.

+ Troubleshoot all system related issues, identify root causes, and implement bug fixes.

+ Perform Routine Maintenance on MFG Systems and Hardware.

+ Maintain a robust Backup & Restore process for all MFG Systems.

+ Debug and enhance existing MES solutions.

+ Create technical system architecture, information flow maps, database diagrams.

+ Provide training and guidance to line techs and team leaders to ensure standard processes and practices are followed consistently.

+ Complete specific sub-projects as identified by the MFG. Systems Manager.

+ Acquire hardware, software and services required to support the system implementations.

+ Create queries or Ad-Hoc reports to support data needs from quality, materials, operations and EHS.

+ Partner with all department teams to continuously eliminate waste, simplify and improve processes.

Must Have:

+ Minimum 5 years of experience with the implementation of information technology in a complex environment

+ Formal training or demonstrated proficiency in programming: C/C++/C#, Visual Basic, .NET, SQL and/or other languages

+ Demonstrated ability to design, develop and support sophisticated manufacturing systems

+ Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills

+ Demonstrated facilitation and technical leadership skills

+ Demonstrated proactive team player with a high level of initiative
