Job Summary:

We are currently hiring a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join the StormBreaker® program. We are looking for an experienced engineering leader to serve as the Lead Engineer for the StormBreaker Tech Refresh Development Program. The Lead Engineer will be responsible for managing / coordinating with all IPTLs working the various subsystems of the Tech Refresh effort (Control Actuation System (CAS), Digital Signal Processor (DSP), and mmW sensor). >$100M in value across the period of performance.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

+ Candidate will work with a multi-disciplined team and is expected to lead / coordinate with multiple other IPTLs

+ Ensure proper engineering discipline is applied to all designs

+ Support and provide technical oversight to Risk and Opportunity Review Boards

+ Provide the best technical solution within cost and schedule constraints

+ Plan, organize, and help develop program progress reviews for the US Government customer while providing customer and industrial partner management

+ Responsible for conducting briefings and reporting to senior US Government and RTX Officials

+ Collaborate with other StormBreaker program leaders to support Tactical Strike objectives and customer requirements

+ Provide strategic planning and execution for long-term, affordable operational readiness support to exceed Warfighter needs

+ Improve processes and develop plans to support the program’s overall business strategy while implement best practice solutions across multiple business areas, programs, and functional organizations

Basic Qualifications:

+ Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optics or related STEM degree and a minimum of 10 years of Engineering experience OR an Advanced degree and minimum 7 years of experience is required

+ Experience with EO simulation, analysis, and/or hardware laboratory testing

+ Experience using Computer Analysis Tools (such as: MATLAB, Python, or IDL)

+ Experience with EO hardware (such as: detectors, optics, cryogenic systems, gimbal platforms, or video electronics)

+ Experience with EVM or managing program cost, schedule, and performance

+ Experience with risk and opportunity management processes

+ Experience developing and reviewing cost proposals and/or synthesizing Gate Packages for Management Review and approval

+ Experience with DoD Contract execution, processes, and procedures including earned value and financial management or similar

+ Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience with missile EO products

+ A current Top-Secret DoD security clearance

+ Ability to produce high-quality technical reports

+ Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams to develop technical solutions for missile EO products in a leadership capacity

+ Experience with Sustainment, Engineering, Logistics, Program Management, or Project Management in a military or civilian environment

+ Experience managing a large diverse team while performing execution activities

+ Experience with critical path maintenance/management

+ Innovative skillset to implement creative solutions while achieving internal and external customer collaboration

+ Ability to effectively communicate with customers in writing and verbally and manage customer expectations/relationships

+ Ability to make complex decisions under stressful business situations and extreme time constraints

+ Ability to problem solve and implement strategic solutions throughout product life cycle

+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills

+ Customer Collaboration experience to retain, expand, and capture new business

+ Demonstrated ability to influence and effectively engage at all levels of the organization to achieve program goals

+ Demonstrated history of meeting and/or exceeding customer expectations

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
