IT (Information Technology) Site Reliability – System s Engineer

Salary: Starting $100,000/y

Summary: U-Haul is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the IT S ite Reliability team as a Windows , and Linux engineer supporting R&D and upgrading virtual environments , IIS web servers, network storage , Active Directory, and more .

Duties:

+ Create standards for web hosting environments (IIS, Nginx, Apache), as well as research and development of new processes

+ Handle escalations to assist with complex issues in our web hosting environment, including Windows and Linux servers, as well as F5 Big IP load balancers

+ Maintain and design new web hosting automation using PowerShell and Ansible. I.e. automation to build new sites, reconfigure existing sites, etc.

+ Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding using monitoring solutions like SolarWinds, Dynatrace, and Kibana/Grafana

+ Create standards for Windows and Linux servers, including patching, reviewing logs, and software installation/configuration

+ Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of a catastrophic failure

+ Work within vCenter

+ Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in cloud computing and DevOps

+ Support and coach team members with complex technical issues via Microsoft Teams and email

+ Work with vendors providing professional services or support

+ Generate and update comprehensive documentation for processes and standards in our environment

Preferred Skills/Knowledge:

+ Windows IIS

+ Working knowledge of F5 BIG-IP

+ Experience with Kubernetes

+ Working knowledge of Nginx-ingress and/or Kubernetes-ingress

+ Active Directory/Group Policy

+ Azure DevOps

+ .NET /Core application s

+ Dynatrace

+ SolarWinds

+ SFTP ( CrushFTP , MoveIT / IPSwitch , GoAnywhere , etc )

+ Scripting (bash, PowerShell, Python)

+ v Center/vSphere

+ Experience working with SCRUM and/or Agile

+ Experience working with CI/CD deployments (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Gitlab, Travis, etc )

+ Azure and Azure Active Directory

Requirements:

+ 5 + years experience working with Windows Server 2012

+

+ 2 + years experience working with Linux distros like Ubuntu, RHEL, and CentOS

+ 5 + years experience working with IIS 8.5

+

+ 2+ years experience working with Nginx

+ 2 + years experience working in a virtualized environment, like vCenter/ ESXi or Hyper-V

+ 2+ years experience working with PowerShell scripts and automation
