**The Opportunity**

As a dedicated Legal Analyst, you will perform legal research and analysis for area of specialization under the direction of internal or external legal counsel. Analyzes and compiles data in support of development of legal strategies. Acts as a liaison between internal counsel and external counsel and advises Leadership on progress of case.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

**What you'll do:**

+ Independently performs moderately complex to complex legal analysis for specific client inquiries, arbitrations, investigations, and litigation.

+ Investigates claims, analyzes facts, estimates potential legal exposure for the organization. Formulates alternative legal strategies and acts as a liaison for negotiations. Prepares materials and witnesses involved in legal processes.

+ Applies intermediate knowledge to analyze new and pending statutory, regulatory, and decisional law.

+ Identifies changes that may impact company policies and procedures.

+ Facilitates management of internal and external resources, including relationships with outside counsel.

+ Analyzes and investigates allegations and inquiries from related federal, state, and local government agencies, and/or current or former employees and members to resolves issues.

+ Serves as resource for legal processes applicable to areas of specialization (ie, patent prosecution, class action claims, brokerage and transfer agency matters).

+ Serves as a resource to less experienced team members.

+ Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

**What you have:**

+ Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

+ 4 years of experience with relevant law firm and/or corporate legal department or 4 years of operational experience utilizing knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft office and relevant legal support software.

**What sets you apart:**

+ P&C Claims experience working directly with attorneys for an insurance carrier.

+ Experience drafting legal documents.

+ US military experience with skills related to one of the following MOS’s: Navy (Legalman (LN), Marines (4421, 4422, 4430), Army (27D/270A/42L), USAF (51JX / 5J0X1)

**Compensation:** USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $74,210 - $141,830 **.**

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
