GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
PAINTS A VARIETY OF SURFACES UTILIZING VARIOUS PAINTING TECHNIQUES. POWER WASH
SURFACES, HANG DRYWALL.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Cleans and prepares surfaces for paint application using spray, brush and roller techniques, make repairs to various surfaces prior to painting.
Determines appropriate painting technique (spray, brush, roller, etc.) for application to a variety of surfaces.
Determines what is appropriate given the area that is to be painted (i.e. – not using spray paint when children are in the vicinity.)
Rigs scaffolding and other structures from which to paint. Runs the bucket truck when necessary to complete the job.
Prepares and mixes materials such as paint, varnishes, epoxies, stains, Stucco Patch and other coatings.
Preps, sands, tapes, seals and finishes furniture and other surfaces. When necessary, move furniture to Paint Shop for completion.
Installs and points up drywall using a variety of techniques. Match existing texture.
Paints lines for athletic courts, parking lots and school playgrounds, including painting games such as hopscotch.
Completes work order forms to indicate time and materials used.
Apply 3 coat finishing surface to ADA access ramps. Follow ADA standards in painting parking lots, making handicap van accessible.
Power wash or use chemicals for graffiti removal, reseal brick/concrete walls.
Cleans and maintains painting equipment and tools.
Identify and report hazardous materials, i.e. lead based paint, asbestos to supervisor.
Spray paint furniture as required
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS  
A.  REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent;
Three years of experience preferred (journeyman level competency) in various painting techniques or completion of an accredited training program in the trade.
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
Ability to communicate and work well with staff and the general public.
Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona drivers license.  
B.  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 75 lbs. up to 75 yards without assistance;
Ability to climb and/or work from ladders routinely.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:  None.
