We are looking for an Sr Mechanical Engineer with a Professional Engineer license to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, engineering, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and enhancement of our Combined Heat and Power and Distributed Thermal Plant systems.

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in Rotary Subsystems, Heat Recovery, and Boiler Subsystems, particularly in the context of CHP and DTP systems, to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of our campus facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design components of machinery and evaluate their functionality.

• Estimate costs and timelines associated with product development from inception to completion.

• Supervise the production and installation of capital and improvement projects.

• Ensure that product development and manufacturing procedures comply with safety standards.

• Manage mechanical failures and provide guidance to teams on troubleshooting and operating machinery.

• Develop standard protocols for maintenance and inspection of machinery.

• Participate in Honeywell onsite Technical Services to conduct root cause analysis and investigations during plant shutdowns.

• Analyze the functionality of designs and develop mechanisms to support machine operation.

• Conduct thorough research into machine quality, identify potential challenges, and create technical documentation to address them.

• Evaluate vendor performance and capabilities

YOU MUST HAVE:

•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

•2+ years of experience with mechanical design and development

•Professional Engineer License

•Excellent understanding of digital processing tools

•Experience working with classification society rules for Mechanical systems

•Ability to work in a team environment

•Experience working with site inspections, construction supervision, and contract administration

•Strong knowledge of mechanical installation safety

•Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.
