_Our internship program is designed for full-time students currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university and recent graduates in North America. These are temporary full-time paid positions that usually run from May through August._ **_Apply Today!_** _ _

**Description**

Under general supervision, performs research and project work that assists the Government Relations Department.

The position requires assisting senior corporate Government Relations professionals in day-to-day operations. Summarize legal and business documents, conduct research, attend and observe meetings, conference calls, and manage assigned projects.

+ Interface with in-house staff on research and assigned projects

+ Assist preparing reports

+ Prepare summaries of meetings and research

+ Attend meetings and travel as requested by Manager; create reports on proceedings; and analyze and organize business records

+ Conduct administrative work as needed

**Qualifications**

Minimum Requirements:

+ Full-time student currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university majoring in an appropriate discipline OR

+ Recent college graduate having graduated within 12 months prior to internship start date with an appropriate degree

+ Basic understanding of and interest in the workings of federal government and Congress

+ Ability and willingness to keep department matters strictly confidential

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and Zoom

+ Excellent Skills to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced office and effectively work with time

+ Detail-oriented and self-motivated

+ Must be able to demonstrate our core values of honesty, fairness, respect, trust, and integrity

Criteria/Conditions:

+ Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English

+ Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

+ Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment

+ Work is primarily performed both at home and in office setting

+ While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see

+ Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to 25 twenty-five (25) pounds during the course of the workday

+ Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing

**Compensation:**

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $22.25-$28.00/hour. Individual pay rates will be based on level of education and relevant experience.

+ Positions which Freeport-McMoRan has designated as safety sensitive positions in the applicable job or position description and which upon further review continue to be designated as safety-sensitive based on an individualized assessment of the actual duties performed by a specifically identified employee.
