**POSITION SUMMARY**
The Systems Engineer - z/OS, will possess targeted technology skills in z/OS software lifecycle methodologies across multiple vendor solutions, be adaptable to changing priorities and provide data driven business solutions. Additionally, this engineer will help to oversee and enhance security measures, including advanced security management, audit compliance, and remediation of vulnerabilities as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement custom solutions to meet business needs.
_The ideal candidate will:_
+ Maintain and manage multi-vendor z/OS software products
+ Leverage various z/OS products/utilities
+ Perform system monitoring/tuning for performance and capacity
+ Develop and deploy best practice solutions in alignment with business requirements
+ Provide support for complex technical and operational issues, driving problem resolution through root cause determination
+ Produce control evidence for various audit inquiries
+ Interact with vendors to plan and implement z/OS system upgrades
+ Work effectively within Change and Problem Management structures
+ Engage in the development and execution of continuity and recovery plans
+ Participate in on-call rotation
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ 5+ years experience in Large Scale Mainframe computing environments
+ 5+ years experience with z/OS software lifecycle management
+ 3+ years experience with IBM Systems Automation and Netview deployment and customization
+ 3+ years experience with Mainframe Security product deployment and customization
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Strong understanding of database optimization and performance tuning
+ Experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers, fostering an environment of continuous learning and skill enhancement
+ A strong strategic mindset with the ability to align IT initiatives with business goals, driving value through technology
+ Deep knowledge of disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing within IBM environments
+ Advanced skills in security management, including audit journal analysis, compliance with security frameworks, and mitigation of security risks
+ Strong experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and third-party software integration
**EDUCATION**
Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

**Pay Range**
The typical pay range for this role is:
$44.57 - $106.96
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
