Job Description

The Development Coordinator supports the Development Director, which will include administrative support, alumni and donor communications, scholarship assistance, donor stewardship, event strategy, and additional support that contributes to the overall goals of the Franke College of Business development team. This position interacts with a variety of university partners to help scope, plan, develop, and coordinate effective strategies and tactics that support college development administration.

The Coordinator will ensure compliance with university policies and regulations, identify areas needing improvement, and develop solutions to streamline work and build effectiveness. Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners is a critical function of this role. The ideal candidates will be able to anticipate needs and remain organized under pressure. This dynamic, fast-paced position requires the ability to think critically and operate with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Development Activities - 50%

• Review and revise Development communications and stewardship activities:

• Hall of Fame display
• Donor Wall
• Work with Advancement | Foundation and college communications staff for development-focused communications
• Prepare individual publications specific to donor interest

• Manage the college donor stewardship program including the gift acknowledgement process, ensuring appropriate acknowledgement for donors, and developing stewardship/impact reports.
• Newsletter.
• Hall of Fame Wall(s) updates.

Scholarship processing for FCB and HRM - 35%

• Ensure scholarship application/database is accurate and reflects new funds and any donor changes/updates.
• Work with Foundation scholarship coordinator to ensure timing of process is consistent. Ensure receipt of FCB Foundation-processed scholarships are received and reflected in FCB database.
• Ensure scholarship committee members are trained and understand how to review applicant information.
• Oversee scholarship selection to ensure students selected meet the criteria set by the donor.
• Communication with donors (end of year solicitation, confirmation of gift, invitation to event, etc.)
• Oversee scholarship donor stewardship; student thank you letters, event photos, etc. are completed and sent to donors.
• Ensure scholarships are accurately entered into Foundation e-form.

Events - 10%

• Oversee Scholarship event for FCB.
• Assist with the Alumni and Faculty Hall of fame event.

Other - 5%

• Oversee outstanding pledges.
• Update spreadsheet
• Process pledge invoices

• Assist Development Coordinator with projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree.
• 2-4 years of coordination, project management, report building, or relevant experience.
• Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a non-profit or philanthropic operation.
• Experience with fundraising principals and processes, and best practices.
• Experience in marketing, communications, or related field.
• Experience in an academic/office setting.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint and other Windows applications.

Salary

Anticipated hourly range is $21.27 - $26.59. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.

FLSA Status

This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The incumbent is eligible for overtime pay or compensatory time according to University policy. Further, the employee must submit timesheets that accurately reflect all hours worked.
